Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ Releases Statement on Religious Liberty Case, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District

Smithville, MO (April 25, 2022) – The Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ released a statement regarding Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, on which the U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments today. Joseph Kennedy, a former high school football coach, was fired because fans and students could see him take a knee in silent prayer after football games.

“Prayer should never be a firing offense,â€ said Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ Chairman Todd Graves. “The Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ understands the importance of prayer and its protections under the First Amendment. We hope the Supreme Court will seize this opportunity to defend every American’s right to pray in public without fear of retaliation.â€

The Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ created a daily devotional podcast, The Morning Routine, so that no American ever has to go a day without prayer. Listeners can join Rev. Darrell Jones, President of the Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ, every morning as he inspires educators and students with Scripture.

“Unfortunately, there are so many forces in our society attempting to pull us away from God and each other,â€ said Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Darrell Jones. “At the Herzog Â鶹ÊÓƵ, we want to make sure that every American has daily access to prayer – whether you’re a student, teacher, coach, or parent. You’re entitled to this constitutional right.â€
